A message from Amber. . .

Thank you for considering me to support your mental health needs. I understand that it is not easy to reach out for help; however, I believe that counseling is for anyone who decides that they are worth the investment in themselves. Therapy is a worthwhile challenge that allows individuals the rare time and space to care for themselves in a world that demands more of them every day. I would feel so privileged to partner alongside you on that journey.

Some things to know about me as you decide on a therapist: I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Georgia, and have been working as a mental health counselor since 2020. I have been working in this field since 2017. My undergraduate degree is from Auburn University and I have a Bachelor of Science in Human Development & Family Studies. My masters is in Social Work, from the University of Alabama. I have an extensive background in child welfare, abuse and neglect, foster care, and working with individuals who have experienced significant trauma. I have also worked within the public school system and non-profits in various roles to support individuals and families over the last 10 years. I believe that these experiences help me to better understand other's unique experiences. Remaining calm in a crisis, and separating the difference between a crisis and a challenge is a skill I have developed over the years.

In therapy, I use only evidenced based practices - using elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing. I take a strength-based, trauma-informed, and holistic approach to meet clients right where they are with various planned or unplanned life changes. My hope is that everyone who I work with leaves feeling supported, safe, and empowered to achieve their goals. My goal is to support you in your goals and partner alongside you as you navigate the beautiful and challenging complexities of life.
