A message from Catelyn. . .

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. I work with adults and adolescents, ages 16 and up, who are experiencing a variety of psychological stressors. These stressors may include interpersonal struggles like depression and/or anxiety, low self-esteem/body image struggles, life transitions, relationship issues, anger and/or stress management, and grief. I am also passionate about women’s issues, food allergy related anxiety, and sports/performance anxiety. My goal is to assist my clients in identifying their strengths and encouraging them to use their God-given gifts to achieve growth, connection with others, and an overall healthier lifestyle.

As your counselor I am honored to walk beside you on your journey, providing guidance, support, encouragement, and a strong knowledge of evidenced-based therapeutic interventions and skills to aid you in your growth and healing. I believe in using the personal strengths each client brings into therapy rather than focusing on pathology and diagnosis. Thus, I use a person-centered, trauma-informed, eclectic style in order to tailor my interventions to best fit the needs and goals of each individual client.

I received my Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Troy University and my Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Psychology from Carson Newman University. I have worked in a community counseling setting serving clients experiencing severe and persistent mental illness as well as overseeing an Intensive Outpatient Program for clients recovering from drug and alcohol abuse. I also have experience working in a private practice setting serving adolescents, adults, couples and families.

I am a wife and mother of three little ones.  Most of my time is spent with my family, but if I do have free time, I enjoy running/exercising, cuddling up with our two dogs, or being near or on any body of water.
